Background / Education

Dr. Temitope Babajide was born into the family of Chief & Chief Mrs. Christopher Ejiade, both of blessed memory. She had her elementary education in the city of Ibadan. For her higher education, she attended The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where she graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy in July 1988.

In pursuit of university education, she proceeded to the University of Ibadan for her Master of Business Administration (MBA – Finance Option), graduating as the Best Graduating Student in November 2007. She received the Bassey Ewa Henshaw Award, the Abiola Postgraduate Award, and the Oba Ogunmokun Bilade III Memorial Prize for outstanding academic performance.

She later attended Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds, United Kingdom, where she obtained a Master's Degree in Corporate Governance in November 2011.

Continuing her academic journey, she enrolled at Lead City University, Ibadan, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting with First Class Honours in 2013. She subsequently obtained a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Ibadan in 2019 and completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting at Lead City University in November 2021.

Professionally, she became a member of ICAN in September 2001 and was elevated to Fellow in April 2013. She also became a member of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria in 2008, the Nigerian Institute of Management in 2011, and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria in 2018. In April 2026, she completed Artificial Intelligence modules in Human Resources Management.

Publications / Articles

Dr. Temitope Babajide has authored fifteen publications during her academic career. Her notable works include "The Board, the Executive, and Good Governance", a case study of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, prepared for her dissertation at Leeds Metropolitan University, United Kingdom.

She also co-authored "Sustainability Reporting and the Performance of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria", presented at the Bowen University Academic Conference in November 2021, alongside several other scholarly publications.

Services to the Accountancy Profession

Dr. Temitope Babajide has served as an Assessor and Examiner with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) since 2013. She currently serves as Team Leader for the Corporate Reporting Group (Professional Examinations) and Team Leader for the Public Sector Accounting Group in the ATSWA Examinations.

She has served on numerous ICAN committees, including:

• Publications and Image Committee (2014–2017)
• Annual Accountants Conference Committee (2017)
• Mutual and Cooperative Agreement with Tertiary Institutions (MCATI) Committee (2017–2018)

She has also been a member of the ICAN Accreditation Team, visiting institutions such as Babcock University, Benson Idahosa University, Covenant University, Yobe State University, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, and several other tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

Within the Ibadan and District Society of ICAN, she has served as:

• Assistant General Secretary (2012–2014)
• General Secretary (2014–2016)
• Treasurer (2018–2020)
• 23rd Chairman (2023/2024)

She also served as the 5th Chairperson of the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN) from February 2018 to April 2020 after previously serving as Deputy Chapter Chairperson.

Religious Activities & Services to the Society

Dr. Temitope Babajide attended the New Covenant Church Bible School, where she earned a Diploma in Biblical Studies and graduated as the Valedictorian in April 2021.

She currently serves as the Coordinator of the Ushering Team at New Covenant Church, Onireke. She is also the Treasurer of the Peace Estate Landlords Association, having previously served as its Auditor.

Additionally, she serves as the Vice President and Financial Secretary of the Rock (Ibadan) Multipurpose Cooperative Society of the New Covenant Church.

Family and Work

Dr. Temitope Babajide currently works with the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, where she rose through the ranks to become Deputy Director (Finance). She heads the Financial and Fiscal Reporting Division of the Finance and Accounts Department.

She is happily married to Mr. Ayo Babajide, and they are blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren.
